Subject of the course content:

Dynamic modeling of Selected Power Electronic Convertors (PEC). Discrete mathematical model of three phase  controlled bridge rectifier; discrete model of voltage- and current fed inverter with variable structure. Matlab Simunlink based simulation and modeling of PEC for improved energy efficiency.

Application of PEC in: Vector controlled Variable speed Drives (VSD); Renewable energy sources (Hydro, Wind, Solar). Modern power direct current (DC) transmission systems.

Introduction to Voltage Quality (VQ) and impact of PEC to the energy quality. Voltage and Energy Quality  beyond different IEC Standards depending on total harmonic distortion (THD). Optimization control method  in  PEC for energy saving and improved energy efficiency.
